We are seeking a motivated and ambitious Trainee Solicitor to join our Braintree office, working closely with Partner, within a well-established and growing practice.
This is an excellent opportunity for a trainee looking to gain high-quality, hands-on experience across wills and estate planning, contentious probate, and general civil litigation, with direct partner support and structured supervision.

Job Description
You will support the Partner across a varied and engaging caseload, including:
- Drafting wills, trusts, and estate planning documentation
- Supporting probate disputes and contentious estate claims
- Assisting in general civil and commercial litigation matters
- Legal research, drafting correspondence, pleadings and attendance notes
- Client liaison and file management under supervision
- Attendance at meetings, hearings, and (where appropriate) court proceedings
The role offers genuine exposure to both contentious and non-contentious work, making it ideal for a trainee seeking breadth, responsibility, and development.
We have a strong record of training and retaining solicitors. Over a third of our qualified solicitors trained at the firm.
Requirements:
- Law degree or GDL
- Completion of the Legal Practice Course (LPC) and/or Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE). Many of our trainees undertake these courses concurrently with their training contracts.
- A strong academic background.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to pursuing a career in law, with a passion for continuous learning and development.
