What does our fee include?
Our Family Law Solicitor will take your initial instructions at an initial interview usually one hour of your time. You will be advised on the documentation and information required. We will prepare all the documentation necessary and correspond with the Court, the other party or their solicitor. We will see the matter progress to the final conclusion of Decree Absolute.
N.B
There will be additional fees where:- proceedings are defended; the other Party cannot be located; either party is a non-resident of the UK; disputes relating to children arise, domestic violence or financial matters arise; we are required to attend court (this is rare); where we have to amend papers after they have been issued to the Court; we have to represent you in disputes about cost or enforcing costs orders. Additional services required outside the ambit of our fixed fee service will be chargeable at our usual competitive professional hourly rate which we always quote in advanc
There may be additional disbursements where:- you do not have a certified marriage certificate and a duplicate needs to be obtained; if you swear an Affidavit in front of a solicitor, rather than an Officer of the Court, there may be a charge of up to £9; if a bailiff has to be instructed to personally serve the other party in situations whereby they do not return the Acknowledgement of Service or to apply to the Court for an order that the divorce papers are deemed to have been served.
